General practice plays a very important role in vaccinating adults and children who reside in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven area. Local GPs are in a unique position to encourage and monitor immunisation particularly in children.

The ISML iImmunisation program provides tools, resources and support to help general practices to ensure the community is protected against vaccine preventable diseases. ISML support aims to improve local childhood immunisation rates along with other target groups requiring routine vaccination.

We liaise closely with the Illawarra Public Health Unit and surrounding Medicare Locals as well as relevant State and National bodies.

Cold Chain  (Vaccine Storage) Practice Support Service

• Education and resources for general practice staff, including support for new staff. The ISML can offer your Practice an educational visit for staff on safe vaccine storage management. 
• Temperature Data Logging service - we can monitor the temperature of your vaccine fridge with a data logger for approximately a week to review temperature range and fluctuations and to ensure the fridge is operating within the correct temperature range.
