Antenatal Shared Care Program
The Antenatal Shared Care Program is based at Wollongong Hospital and aims to provide pregnant women in the Illawarra with an option to see their GP throughout their pregnancy.

Aims of the Antenatal Shared Care Program

  • Provide pregnant woman with flexibility, choice and continuity of care.
  • Cater for the preferences and needs of women from a diverse range of cultural and religious backgrounds.
  • Enhance skills of GPs caring for woman during pregnancy.
  • Promote communication between GPs and the participating hospitals.

PREGGIO Update

The PREGGIO (Pregnancy and Glycaemic Index Outcomes) study has started recruiting women in the Wollongong Antenatal Clinic. This study is investigating Low GI dietary advice in pregnancy and is looking for women with  less than 20 weeks gestation. More information on this study is to come. An update can be found below.
